3 Ways to Get an Amazing Landscape for Less.

An amazing landscape is one that is cohesive, beautiful, low maintenance, functional, ecological and affordable.
1) Have an Amazing Plan

It only takes two things to get the perfect landscape: 1) An awesome master plan and 2) Commitment. I can help with the first one and if we collaborate to create a design you love as much as your dream house, you’ll have no problem with the second.
A great plan goes a long way in saving you time, money, and work over the lifetime of your landscape design. Don’t do more work or spend more than you need to. Prevent bad purchases, bad plant placement, and installation mistakes that can cause problems immediately or down the road. Get a consultation with me and together we can create a landscape plan that works through all the details- the what, how, where, why, and who is all explianed and planned ahead.
2) Phase your plan over time

Phasing the installation of your plan over several years is one of the best ways to stretch your budget and get all the elements you want in a landscape. Phasing will create a more natural look with plants at different ages instead of having all the trees the same size. When you know where your final destination is for everything, you can do all the subterranean work early and prevent tearing up past installations as you work on the next phase. Finally, phasing allows some flexibility as you use the areas you finish and determine you want to adjust aspects of the plan to work better if you change your mind about it. Just work with your designer ahead of time to see if they can consult later phases in the case of needing changes.
3) Unconventional Sourcing of Materials

Reusing materials from a landscape revamp such as pavers. Collecting rocks from a site where you have permission to use them. Using materials from your own property like trees and rocks. You can find a local sawyer with a towable mill who will mill the logs on your property for a reasonable charge. Usually FB Marketplace or Craigslist will have listings for such services. Check that same site for plant sharing opportunities. If you have friends or property that have plants you like already growing, take a start or make a cutting or plan to use trees you can transplant- smaller is better when trying that. Start plants from seed. When you start smaller to save money, time is your money. Invest your time into creating the awesome plan and it will grow into something very valuable and enjoyable.
